We had the last of our sectional rehearsals on Thursday and after a "clean-up" rehearsal this week, we will start going through every song every week. This is when we discuss the messages we want to convey to the audiences of the music through tempo, diction, dynamics, etc. In order to do this effectively, the technicals have to be learned. If you are struggling with a certain part and you have a piano available, I would encourage you to work on the part.
Altos, pay particular attention to that really rough spot pick up to the last line on page 10 of Johnny. The jump to the E is a killer and the only way you are going to get it and the subsequent notes on "rah" into your head is to memorize it. Accordingly, sopranos on page 10 beginning second score down when you start your climb into the stratosphere, sing those notes on "AH" to the top of page 11, second measure until further notice.
Our rehearsal this week will have to be in the PRIMARY ROOM because of the training workshop taking place in the Chapel. Parking will also be at a premium so some of you will probably have to park in the back of the building. If you are included in the workshop training session, please advise Janet per my email to you on Friday so that we will know how to place the chairs, etc.
As usual, thanks so much for all you do to make the Sugar Hill LDS Choir a success.
